HISTORY

2012

Purchased a Mitutoyo Crysta-Apex S544 CMM.

Looking forward to our 4,400 square foot building expansion (summer 2012).

2011

Controlled Goods Program registered and approved.

2010

To assist in customer traceability & part identification, Hi-Quality Carbide purchased a new Laser Etching machine for creating precision part numbers, serial numbers and Grade identification. Bringing our out-sourced steel machining in-house, we've improved deliveries by purchasing a new Hyundai KIA CNC Lathe (with a 19.7" swing, 28.35" between centers and a 12 station turret).

2008 -2009

Hi-Quality Carbide continues to invest in its future, with the installation of five new machines:  An Accutex Wire EDM, an Accutex Small Hole EDM, a Large Capacity Okamoto Surface Grinder, a Sunnen EC-3500 high-production honing machine & the Colchester Combi 2000 CNC tool room lathe.

2007

A new top-of-the-line CNC Cylindrical Grinder arrives, allowing technological advancement in the process of developing carbide extrusion & piercing pins.

2006

A new and larger facility is purchased, with room for expansion.

2003 - 2005

During this time, production, machinery & staffing was increased, to ensure the highest quality finished product and reliable delivery dates.

2001 - 2002

1^st CNC controlled machine is installed. New 3-axis NC controlled surface grinder and new large-capacity vertical honing machines are purchased.

1997

Hi-Quality Carbide was purchased by Tim & Wendy Middlehurst.

1994

Tim Middlehurst took over the management of Hi-Quality Carbide.  Over the next three years, production tripled and quality remained exceptional.

1982 - 1993

Hi-Quality Carbide built a strong reputation, by name, for consistently exceeding our customers’ expectations in both quality and tool-life.

1980

 Hi-Quality Carbide is founded.
